Carpenter's Shelter
2019 Dec 09
Staff is super supportive and friendly and caring. They appear to be doing everything they possibly can worth the resources they have. The interior was clean and organized. They have regular shelter beds, a day resource area for individuals who have nowhere to go, and a cold weather program that offers extra mats/space during the coldest months of the year.
They called it a Fall Cruise, made it sound so romantic. The boat was pretty raggedy, there weren't any really nice views, the food was really bad. I heard someone complain that their hot dog was cold. The tables were covered in cheap vinyl tablecloths with fake candles and fake fall leaves. The top deck where the only real views could be had was clausterphobically over crowded, the windows downstairs were murky and scratched-up fiberglass. There were two small pumpkins perched on a little ledge in the bar area with two phony fall leaves draped over them, in case we forgot we were on a "Fall Cruise."
