It's always nice to witness a piece of history. It doesn't take long to visit, it is free. Looks simple but take the time to picture what was happening in the space.

If you want to stay close to the airport this is the hotel for you. I know you can have cheaper options close by with free shuttle but its worth the extra money. The option with the lounge access is great for snacks and the breakfast was great. Large and modern rooms with views on the planes taking off. All around great experience at the Marriott Hotel.

Of you are in Sintra for the visit the Pena Palace you will definitely have to make a extra stop to visit the Moorish Castle. It's a nice little hike and the view is definitely worth it. We did it in the morning around 11 am and it wasn't too crowded. It can be a little chilly on top so bring something warm and i wouldn't recommend to buy the tickets in advance.

Wow, probably the most beautiful castle we have visited. The outside is definitely worth the little day trip and you can get lost for hours in the incredible gardens. I would definitely recommend to go early, our entry was at 10 am and we bought the tickets the week before and it made the process super easy. You don't spend more than 30/45 minutes and that's perfect, you'll want to spend your time in the garden and visit other sites close by.

Honestly i think the park/ garden of Pena is even more worth the trip to Sintra. The greenery is incredible, just walk in the many pathways and enjoy the beauty of the historical place. I strongly recommend it!
