Felt a cut on my upper lip whilst eating the fettuccine parmigiano e limone, wiped it with a napkin and there was a spot of blood, my lip started stinging immediately.
Told the waiter & he requested for the manager to come over. The manager’s attitude was defensive, indifferent & dismissive. I told him perhaps it was the coarse sea salt as i could see whole salt crystals in the pasta but he just dismissed it. He then said maybe it was the parmigiano (🤔) & that he will get me a new serving.
He walked away hastily before I could process the entire situation & say no thank you.
Unfortunately i also couldn’t eat the 2nd serving, it was too salty with no hint of lemon. Again, manager was indifferent and dismissive. (Have to said the 1st plate was tasty until i cut my lip).
On my way out, I said to the manager he might like to check with the kitchen if they use coarse salt and if they do, they should just take note in the future. He then invited me to speak to the chefs personally (again 🤔) & the chefs said they don’t use coarse sea salt. Dumbfounded, I asked the manager if he saw salt crystals in my fettuccine and he said he did.
And just sitting on the kitchen counter was a metal container full of coarse sea salt crystals.
