The Water Garden in Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds, was designed in the 1950s to enhance the natural beauty of the historic park. Set against the backdrop of the abbey ruins, it offers a tranquil escape with its flowing water features, small bridges, and vibrant plant life.
The Abbey Gate in Bury St Edmunds, built around 1327, served as the grand entrance to the once-thriving Abbey of St Edmund, which was one of the wealthiest Benedictine monastries in Medieval England.
Whereas most of the abbey is left in ruins the Abbey Gate is still intact. It is a great example of gothic architecture and evokes a sense of medieval grandeur and a fantastic entranceway to the Abbey Gardens inside.

I arrived at Heritage Park too late to make it worthwhile paying to get in so had a short walk around the Boat Ramp and the Big H to get some views of Glenmore Reservoir.
Nice little spot! There's about 50 boats in the Boat Stalls and only one sailing boat out on the water when I was there.

This location is really the Car Park for the View Point further up the hill. The car park has space for about 30 cars but is rarely full.
From this point it is only around a 500m walk up the hill and the views of downtown Calgary from the top are fantastic. Its also a good start point for any of the walks across Nose Hill Park. The park is beautiful, its huge and just a few minutes from the city, great for a walk, a run, or a bike ride.

If you're someone who would like to visit the gardens but would get bored after 5 minutes then the Marina Bay Overpass Viewing Point may be for you. It offers the some of the best views of the Gardens by the Bay (day or night) and is agreat place to fit a lot of the gardens into a single frame without having to do lots of walking.
Actually, looking at my photos again, this would be a great spot to watch the nightly light-shows. Don't know why I didn't think of that while I was there. Duh!
