Jan Matejko Square

A nice square in the center of Krakow, just off the walls of the old town and about a hundred meters from the main train station of the city. It provides a good spot for comparing the architectural difference between the medieval and the modernist urban planning designs and fads. It is also one of the more prominent Instagramable sites in Krakow. It is definitely one of the highlights of the city and it is worth a visit and a snap

A really nice local market. It is a combination of a farmers market, grocery, bakery, and bric-a-brac fair. Most of the fruits and vegetables sold here come directly from the producers. The market has several bakeries and cake shops, whose quality is outstanding. While it is only a short walk from the old town of Krakow and its various tourist attractions, prices tend to be lower than in town. If you are staying in town and want to explore some more local places, this market should certainly be on your list

One of these unique and quintessentially Krakowian places. This little square has multiple snack and fast food eateries which work during the day and night. There are quite a few bars and pubs in the streets surrounding the market, most of them upscale, funky, and hipstery kind of places. The square also hosts an antique and bric-a-brac market on weekends. There are also a few fruit and vegetables stalls. It is certainly one of the must see sight in Krakow and it is difficult to miss it when you are strolling through the old Jewish neighborhood of Kazimierz.
