El Gallo has been around since 1971. First thing I noticed as I sat enjoying my chips and salsa was the amount of regulars in the restaurant. The waiters knew the customers by first name. Right away I knew why it was successful for a long time. The chips are very good. Thin and crispy and go perfectly with the salsa. The salsa is light but tasty. It's not overpowered with salt and other seasonings. The charro beans were decent. But the rice! Rice was too notch. Fluffy and moist. It was perfect. The tacos were good too. The meat was seasoned perfectly and soft. The flour tortilla was a little undercooked. But overall, I was very happy with this place and I would recommend it.
