Cumberland Terrace
2022 Dec 14
A lot of the reviewers here will say this place needs an overhaul and is gloomy but to me this mall feels like a relic of a bygone era.

There are so many small design quirks from the golden trimmed mirror hallway to the distinctly retro signage and unique stores. These aspects make this easily the most unique mall in the city, compare this to Parkway Mall in Scarborough, an actually dying mall that lacks any of these unique qualities.

Cumberland terrace is a fascinating piece of Toronto’s design history wedged in the middle of the most gentrified and out of touch neighbourhood in the city, and it offers a unique experience to those looking for a nostalgia trip or just an underground walk to the subway.

But yeah it could do with a few new stores, particularly in that food court, but I’d be lying if I said I’d be okay with a change of decor
