Any visit to Mysuru remains incomplete without ascending the Chamundi Hills to pay homage to the divine Sri Chamundeshwari Temple. This sacred site is a testament to the fierce form of Goddess Shakti, renowned for vanquishing the demon Mahishasura. This temple is recognized as one of the 18 Shakti Peethas.

Perched 3,000 feet above sea level, the temple can be reached either by road or by climbing the 1,000 steps leading to its magnificent entrance. The journey unfolds amid lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the heritage-rich city of Mysuru at the foot of the hill.

The temple, crowned by an imposing Gopuram, is a masterpiece of artistry from the Hoysala and Vijayanagara dynasties. The intricate stone carvings narrate stories with unparalleled precision, bearing witness to the remarkable skills of a bygone era, untouched by modern technology.

While the temple may be relatively small, it draws large crowds, especially on weekends, festivals, and Fridays. Devotees have the option of choosing between free and paid queues. The main attraction, the darshan of Goddess Chamundeshwari, is a captivating experience, enhanced by the fragrance of flowers, flickering oil lamps, and the presence of incense.

Devotees can savor the laddoo prasad from the prasad counter and explore the various shops offering puja items, refreshing coconut water, sugarcane juice, and even a small flea market with a variety of wares.

The temple grounds boast well-maintained parking facilities and a designated area for storing shoes. Visiting Sri Chamundeshwari Temple has a magnetic pull, leaving me yearning for frequent returns. The divine aura and blessings I feel here are a testament to the profound spiritual power that resides within.

WHAT THEHEEBEE SAYS ABOUT HUDSON RIVER WATERFRONT GREENWAY

I stayed at Newyork for a week in February - 2019. I would say that I was blessed to have my hotel at a walking distance from Hudson River Waterfront Greenway. It was my daily ritual to walk from Pier 40 to Battery Park and back. I used to tease myself that daily evening I walk so much for my daily date with the Lady Liberty. I used to walk and then reach Battery Park and spend some time watching all the wonders of the mother nature.

Hudson River Waterfront Greenway is that amazing place where one can spend that precious 'me time' with one's own self and with the mother nature. The walkway is constructed very nicely with many options to sit, jog, play, cycle and grab something to eat.

One can spend time here watching the river, boats, joggers, cyclists, small children having fun and the adorable pets who enjoy the time with their masters.

The walkway is beautiful without any obstacles. Parks are enjoyable. The playgrounds are well maintained. The adjoining restaurants offer good food.

The best is the amazing view it gives of New Jersey both during the day and at the night.

WHAT THEHEEBEE SAYS ABOUT SPRING STREET PARK

I was a regular visitor to Spring Street Park during my one week's stay at New York in February - 2019. I loved this place and hence visited it every day irrespective of the climate and the snow fall.

This is a small open and green space located right in the middle of offices, restaurants and commercial places. It provides the much needed breathing and breaking spot. Breath fresh air, and break away from the chaos.

It has nice benches, shrubs and dustbins. This is a good place for anyone who wants to spend few mins with ones' own self. Sit here watch the passers by, watch the traffic and just be grateful to the nature of everything that one has.
