Driving in to Ventura country club is like going back to a simpler time. A beautiful clubhouse with a retro Florida look is right next to the clubhouse pool. I could just imagine oiled up hotties smoking Benson & Hedges poolside. I bet that place was swinging in the 80s. Anyways, on to the course. It's awesome! Don't let the 6002 yard lay out fool you. For one thing, it's a par 70. Also, the shortest par 3 from the back tees is 155 yards. With one par 3 measuring 230 yards! The par 5's are no joke as well, with one measuring 581 yards. Some of the par 4's are shorter but still challenging. Hole 6 (par 5) is a real treat. You have to carry the ball at least 200 yards from the back tees over the lake. It's fun! 7 or 8 holes on this course are really beautiful and very distinctive. The whole course is honestly. Best conditioned course I've played since I've been down here on vacation. At a rate of $65. That seemed very reasonable considering the location and course conditions. The greens were a little damaged, but a local said that just happened due to all the rain and that they will recover quickly. Play it! It's sweet!!!
