Best popcorn chicken in town for less than $7
To my NYC friend that too me here...I am so sorry but this place was just ok. I paid $30 with tax and INCLUDED gratuity for pad see ew and thai tea. They auto add 20% gratuity on every check I guess because my party only had 2 people.
The thai tea was good, I would be impressed if they managed to mess that up lol. But the pad see ew was SUPER salty and oily. The first few bites were okay but then it got unbearably salty. The meat was also chewy and hard to eat.
Ambiance and service was nice. I can see why people just come here to drink the alcohol pitchers.

One of the most hyped taco stands in NY (based on what reddit says lol) so I swung by here for a cheap bite! They only serve tacos and they were about $3 each. There was a large crowd when I went but ordering was easy. You take your order with one of the workers' with their ipads and you pay after you receive your food. After that you wait in their seating area until they call your name.
The taste of the tacos do not compare to California's but it was alright for what it is. I could not taste the difference between their al pastor and steak lol. Both could use a little more seasoning tbh.

Wah Fung was closed so I was found alternatives and came across Hay Hay Roasted. For $10 you get a nice portion of roasted pork over rice, choi sum, and a fried egg. Thats a really great deal! The plate was enough for two of us. The roasted pork was meaty and wasn't too salty. The fried egg and its runny yolk really complemented the rice and pork. For another $4, we bought a lemon iced tea which could be more sweet but was a refreshing taste to our meal.
Hay Hay is located near the busy canal street. We came around Thursday noon and didnt wait long to order and receive our food. There is limited seating inside the air conditioned space.

A friend recommended this place because of their super cheap brick toast! Teado is a small shop located in NYC Chinatown. They had a line...only one group could order at a time and you have to wait for that group to receive their order. Though the line was only 4-5 groups (9ish people), I still waited 45 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. I passed by around a Wednesday afternoon and saw no wait though
My condensed french toast ($3.50) was absolutely worth the wait. It was toasted perfectly and not burnt. They added just the right amount of condensed milk so it wasn't soggy. I also tried their oolong milk tea since I guess people also wait for drinks only. It was good but nothing special, would definitely come back for the french toast if there's no line lol.
