Rocky Point Park
2024 Mar 25
Rocky Point Parks' main attraction is the pier and boat launch. There is a spacious parking lot for boat trailers. The launch itself is well maintained and wide enough for multiple water crafts. The pier offers gorgeous mountain views. The park has walking/jogging trails, restrooms,a large playground for children, a swimming pool, and plenty of space for throwing down a blanket. The covered performance stage offers some shade or space to host a family event. Food options include the Boathouse restaurant, Rocky Point Ice Cream, or the little park cantinaJust outside of the park, the Pomo museum might be of interest to those train enthusiasts.
Busy place, engaging friendly staff, warm comfortable ambiance, good selection of dishes, fast delivery on our meals, and reasonably priced. The bar menu is limited, but there are plenty of Italian style cocktails to try, like the espresso Martini👍 The pasta, especially the wild boar pappardelle, was very good and cooked to "al dente" perfection.
This church was built in the early 1700s after the previous two sunk into the soft soil of Mexico. It's not uncommon to see many buildings leaning or sinking all throughout Mexico City. The history of this church goes back to 1629. Free to enter and explore. It is located at the west end of Madero St in the historic center of Mexico city.
A monument was erected in 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of King George High School. 1914/1963
One Wall Center, St Andrews Wesley Church, and the gorgeous multi colored mosiac tiled Electra Building are all in the immediate vicinity.
The real history of the Teotihuacan people is relatively unknown. It's obvious they were culturally advanced, community minded, and spiritual in their beliefs. The pyramids of the Sun,Moon, and Featherd Serpent are some of the largest structures in the western hemisphere. The paintings, sculptures, structures, and weapons allow you a slight glimpse of what it was like 2500 years ago. Prepare for hot weather and lots of time to experience the pyramids.
