Tasty food. Once ordered, it comes quickly. I like how the waitress named all the dishes knowing it was our first time there. She was very helpful but we had to wait a little while to order a couple more times. She regularly replaced our grill which was nice. The restaurant wasn't noisy nor smokey. There was a 2 hour limit which I didn't know about until I got there. As such, we were constantly grilling as some items take longer to grill and it's only one grill for four persons. The waitress let us know 30 minutes before time as a last-call. Even though it was a Tuesday, there were people waiting to be seated at 8:00pm. There was no miso soup and you're allowed only one icecream (cone or in a cup) per person. Luckily, we were able to order two creme brulees per person. Not sure if one can order more, we didn't. The creme brule was okay. The washrooms were on the second floor but too many stairs! They were kept very clean but one had no soap. They tact a 12% gratuity on the bill which is reasonable. The staff was polite despite being very busy and made sure to say goodbye when we left. Overall, it was a good, satisfying experience despite being time-restricted and slightly expensive.
Cheap and easily accessible parking in downtown Ottawa. Walking distance to many attractions! $2 on weekends and public holidays, and after 6:00pm weekdays. $18 weekdays from 6am-6pm. There are always parking spots available. An amazing feature besides having the digital signs with the number of parking spots available for regular and wheelchair accessible parking spots on each level is the lighting system above each parking spot! You don't have to drive around looking for a spot, just look down the parking lot aisles and if there is a green light, the spot is available. Blue for wheelchair accessible parking. Every public parking should be like that!
Had dinner in one of the private rooms...a great experience for our party of 10. Very private room with karaoke (two mics) and private washroom which was very nicely done. There was an automatic mahjong table but we weren't playing. Food was good as usual but portions were smaller than before the pandemic...we ordered the $328 meal package. On the covered Mahjong table, there was a stack of extra plates and napkins which was very handy as we didn't have to wait for a waiter. It would have been better if the waiters didn't come in to take some of the napkins for the other room. It was extra, of course, for the private room but was worth it.
Addition: Had dim sum recently on a Saturday at 11:20am. No waiting. Food came quickly. Delicious. Most plates were $3.80.
