I came on a whim and I am so glad I did. Reasonable admission prices, interactive displays, the dolphin show was pretty amazing. Medium sized parking lot in front, employees are friendly and helpful, everything seemed to run like a well oiled machine.
I came on a whim wanting to get out of town and into a relaxing atmosphere, and this was a great choice! If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place. Reasonable admission price, on the small side, but a great spot highlighting the environments about the Alabama coast. The boardwalk highlighting the plants and animals is nice.
I came 15 minutes before closing on the Friday before Mardi Gras not realizing they closed at 5. I was not rushed and at no point did the employees mention they wanted to go home. Plenty of inventory at reasonable prices. I can not recommend them enough.
I drove by the last Friday evening in October, and the place was packed, no decent parking left, so I came back during the day on Sunday, and I am so glad I did. What a lovely place! Very spooky and creepy!
Heading West on I-20 immediately crossing over into Louisiana from Mississippi is this clean, well lit rest area. At least it was clean when I visited on a Friday. Lots of restrooms, weird mirrors, warnings about human trafficking, hot coffee, and lots of information on things to do in the area. I even got a few free gifts. Stop in and stretch your legs. Bring your own toilet paper just in case. You never know what to expect.
