My husband went to Botany SuperClinic Public Hospital in November 2023.
There were at least 40 patients waiting in the clinic. Luckily, as my husband is a chronic asthmatic who suffered from short of breath, he didn’t need to wait for a long time.
Staff there are very nice and helpful. If you are not feeling well, let’s go there and get appropriate medical treatment.

Middlemore Hospital is the closest hospital to our neighbourhood.
As my husband always says to me, Middlemore Hospital was always named as “Muddlemore Hospital”. That means lots of people have been complaining about the unhygienic conditions, poor services, extremely long waiting hours, etc etc.
After reading so many google reviews, I have decided to write a fair and balanced review so that people can get a clearer picture about Middlemore Hospital. Then they can decide whether they still want to get medical care or advice from the medical staff there or not.
In November 2023, my husband went to Middlemore Hospital late at night. He suffered from serious pneumonia and was referred to Middlemore Hospital by a very good lady Korean doctor at East Care Urgent Care, A&E Department.
Upon arrival, as expected, there were at least 30 to 40 patients waiting at the Emergency Ward of the hospital and at least 10 patients were queuing up for registration at the front counter. As my husband couldn’t walk properly due to short of breath, a very young male staff who has just come from Portugal to work here in New Zealand arranged a wheelchair for my husband. At the meantime, I had to help him with registration procedures etc etc.
As my husband’s oxygen level was so low that he should be treated urgently, a lady nurse pushed his wheelchair to Harley Gray Building. We waited for around 90 minutes and then two lady nurses prepared a hospital bed for him. The nurses said that there’s a shortage of beds due to the peak of COVID and pneumonia at that time. A very young male doctor came and did medical check up for my husband and advised us that my husband had to transfer to the Scott Building immediately.
After waiting for around 4 hours, my husband was taken to Ward 7 on the 3rd floor of Scott Building. Thereafter, he stayed at the hospital for 4 days. My husband was very delighted about the great medical services provided by Dr. Rosie Isaacs and Dr. Stephanie Tan. Not only were these lady doctors professional, but also they were so patient and cared for my husband’s asthmatic conditions.
As for the three meals provided by the hospital, my husband was satisfied with the quality of food. As he is a vegetarian, he still could enjoy great food like sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, etc. He was also very happy about having a cup of hot coffee and tea every day.
On the day that my husband was discharged from the hospital, a very friendly and helpful male staff pushed my husband’s wheelchair all the way from Scott Building to the car park near Emergency Department of the hospital.
On the way home, my husband shared his experience about his stay at Middlemore Hospital with me. He said that despite so many bad experiences and reviews on Google, he could still experience a very pleasant and professional medical treatment from the lady doctors, lady nurses and the male staff who helped him at the check out department of the hospital.
On top of that, my husband was so surprised that he was given a lovely birthday gift on the car on the way back home. Upon his arrival at home, he was so excited to see the cute decorations for his birthday at our front lawn.
All in all, my husband would like to thank all the medical staff who took care of him very well during his stay at Middlemore Hospital. He never calls it Myddlemore Hospital anymore.
We sincerely hope that whatever medical treatments you are going to have at Middlemore Hospital, you will get even better experiences than my husband.

On Valentine’s Day this year, we decided to do a bit walking after eating yummy donuts at Krispy Kreme Donuts.
We walked around 2km at Totara Park where we parked our car at the entrance. The path was a bit rocky as there were lots of rocks on the hiking trail. Anyway, we managed to walk from the entrance to Tatar’s Heights View Point. The views there were breathtaking and beautiful.
Many people were cycling there so beware of them as you may find it a bit difficult to walk when they were cycling left right and centre.
We enjoyed watching aeroplanes flying so close to us while we were walking. Fantastic views!
We highly recommend you to take a stroll there if you happen to drive past Murphy’s Road.

New World Victoria Park is our favourite supermarket in Auckland.
We usually go there and do our weekly grocery shopping on weekends.
Staff there are friendly and helpful.
We love their freshly squeezed orange juice so please get a bottle there if you are there next time.
There are not many parking spaces there so Toh may need to get one parking lot, opposite to the supermarket.
We highly recommend you to visit the shop if you live in Auckland CBD or happen to drive past there.
