I was terrified after reading the reviews of this place! Convinced myself that my passport would be lost or it would take forever to get it back.
I am happy to share that my passport was returned within 15 business days of applying. I applied for a Tourist VISA to Portugal. My appointment was around 8:30 a.m., so I got there around 15 minutes before. I ended up waiting about 45 minutes to an hour before being called up. The actual application didn't take long at all. She just went through my documents according to the checklist (exactly as it was online) and then did my biometrics. I got a notification from VFS the day I applied saying that my application was sent through to the Portuguese embassy. Everyone at VFS was friendly and helpful, and I'm really grateful that I had a positive experience compared to some of the reviews I read prior to the application.
Other than that first notification, I didn't receive any email updates from VFS. I eventually reached out to the Portuguese embassy asking for the status of my application, and they responded saying that I would get it towards the end of the week. I got an email from FEDEX the next day!
