the birthplace of Peter Rabbit has a sad history. author Thornton W Burgess' home still there, but 'zoo' gone, writing studio in disrepair and visitor center burned by arson.
spongy moths weakened and drought killed many oak trees, so deadfalls are a consideration, especially if it's windy.
the split rock looks to me like a breaching whale.
lovely, well maintained trail system may account for a half dozen cars in the parking lot midweek.

parking across from end beaver street for “healthy heart trail”. DCR does a great job maintaining the trails, lots of storm damage this summer cleared away within days.
parking for OHV at top of forge hill road by the water tank.
