This is what people refer to authentic place, in the most positive sense.
Small and stuffed, but with pleasant atmosphere, it is heated and intense, yet we felt welcomed.
Service was friendly and helpful, but we already got exact tips what to order, and the Siske is indeed a special dish worth trying. Small salads as starters were nice, only one thing missing was the option to end with tea (no hot beverages offered, we were informed by the waitress)
Totally recommended, if in the area. Fair price, satisfying portions.

Second time I'm here, with a year gap inbetween, and it's great to return.
Although I had a fast round through the permanent exhibition this time, I still saw some stuff I missed last time, but mainly I enjoyed the current exhibitions, one about Bauhaus in Sachsen and the other about vases. They have a garden and a nice café, so you can really bring a wonderful half a day here and get a lot of inspiring images.
Highly recommended

It's complicated - the permanent exhibition is very nice, impressive, detailed and the craftsmanship is of high quality.
The current addition of local stage designer was great idea, but done too "thin".
Biggest current exhibition about Bangladesh was a real mess...got lost in it, overload of ideas, confusing design...disorientation unavoidable.
The other current exhibition, architecture of joy, was the reason we came - again, great concept, nicely presented in this case, though simple, but really only a small portion was relevant to the title, in my opinion.
Fun fact - men's toilet have mirrors all around (see photos) interesting choice...

We had a wonderful time here, we saw all three exhibition on display: Muslim fashion, about beauty and Asian porcelain. All were interesting, time well spent!
Not only the themes were fascinating, they were also approached from various perspectives (Muslim fashion, especially), partly interactive (beauty) and beautifully displayed (all, but the porcelain room was breathtaking)
I don't know how long there are on, but I'm pretty sure anything that follows would be equally well done...

It takes some effort to get here from the city center of Frankfurt, and eventhough I find the themes of the current exhibitions interesting, I was disappointed at the very old fashioned main permanent exhibition, which needs refreshing urgently.
This museum has many treasures, but the main permanent exhibition, which is most of what you get to view, is archaic overcrowded and not very communicative, against the fact that it is rich is sources and has pretty amazing items.
The current exhibitions are much better presented and curated, but here too there's an overload on one side (the 100 years exhibition) and lack of substance on other (bags exhibition).
I was impressed with the tutoring aspect of the leather computerized exhibition, where u can touch various raw leathers and get info about them - probably fun with children.
All in all - has some value points, but not really worth too much effort, if you are not anyway around or its on.your way
