Sixty Vines

My friend took me to this restaurant and I truly enjoyed it. Andrew was our server and he was EXCELLENT and EXCEPTIONAL!!

Before I move on, the elevator to reach restaurant is next to museum and has Sixty Vine on it.

I will give the food an overall 7 out of 10 only because I travel quite a bit and have eaten at so many different restaurants and the food here is above average. My friend would give her Beet & Herb salad a 10. The Brussel sprout appetizer would also be a 10. I also like that the entrees portion sizes are plentiful so you get bang for buck!

The atmosphere is #1 and absolutely wonderful. I love the decor, view, patio and that they have fire pits that actually throw off quite a bit of heat! The restaurant itself is huge and has plenty of outdoor seating.

We had one issue with an employee who brought appetizer to table. He almost threw it there, never made eye contact and walked away! Needless to say we asked to speak to manager. Andrew apologized and when we pointed this person out, he wasn’t surprised at such behavior. Which means this employee should not be working at this restaurant. The manager, Joseph, handled the situation properly and after this the night was GREAT!!

I highly recommend this restaurant!
If you are a fan it’s a great little museum to visit. I enjoy it and like that since he was Dutch they created this museum. Learned that he was bisexual, had no clue. That’s the thing about traveling and visiting sites; learn things you never knew and see things you heeds of but never saw!!!
This is a great town and great place to visit. We enjoyed all it had to offer!!
5 Acres Restaurant

While waiting to attend the musical Himilton, my friend and I decided to eat here for lunch. I had a salad and she had 5 cheese & macaroni. I also ordered the brussel sprouts and the key lime pie for desert. The Brussels sprouts were burnt and salty so not a good idea to order them. The pie was very good put the coconut whip didn’t taste good to me. My friend said the macaroni was very good! I enjoyed the salad and loved the real bacon bits. The honey vinaigrette salad dressing was also very tasty.
The food is pretty pricy; I added chicken and bacon bits to salad so the total was $30. Our check was $66 and they add 20% gratuity plus tax.
Our server brought us a check for $162, he stated that another server added to it by mistake so he had to redo. Overall, the service was good and the food so I recommend if in the area.
First the definition from PBS: Vodou originated in the ancient kingdom of Dahomey (present-day Nigeria, Benin, and Togo) and derives from the Fon word for "God" or "Spirit." Other accurate spellings include Vodun, Vodoun, but never voodoo, the sensationalist and derogatory Western creation.

This museum is neat and great place if you know anything about Vodou. It’s basically 2 rooms filled with artifacts. The lady who worked there if you want guided tour and booked please call because some cancel and may have openings.

I only related Vodou to evil but learned at a recent tour that they have one spiritual God. That it was never meant for evil but to help people. And that’s why I wanted to visit this museum.

It’s located in heart of French Quarter so be prepared to hunt for parking space. I parked across N. Rampart on Ursulines Ave, it was .7 miles away. It was a nice walk and you see most of Bourbon St.

They have nice African gifts and some from Haiti. Vodou dolls etc. And you can have psychic readings. They also have paid tours which wound probably be much better than self guided if like me don’t know much about it. I highly recommend visiting if in the area.
This museum is very modern and nice! The staff was very friendly and inviting! It’s worth seeing but in my option there should be more historical artifacts and displays.

They have music, entertainment, vendors and small bar to purchase drinks etc every 3rd Saturday and entrance is free! I just happen to visit on a 3rd Saturday. Not sure of regular entrance fee. It’s in a residential area but very easy to get to. I highly recommended visiting if in New Orleans.
