Kimbell Art Museum
2024 Jan 26
Although the Kimbell Art Museum has a relatively small collection of around 350 works of art, they cover collections from Asia, Ancient America and Europe covering thousands of years. The buildings architecture is also unique and adds to the pleasure of a visit. The Museum also has a souvenir shop and an excellent cafe. Parking is easy and admission fees are very reasonable. A definite pleasure to visit this place.
Lenoir Preserve
2022 Apr 11
This is a very large 40-acre nature preserve along the Hudson River. The preserve is mostly woodlands and there are not many well defined trails, so it is a somewhat difficult walk, and you need to watch your step, especially since many areas are sloped. The park had very few hikers when I was there so it can be intimidating from a personal safety standpoint.
The highlight of the preserve is the Wightman Mansion, one of two estate homes on the property. Unfortunately, you can't go into these magnificent properties since Westchester County which owns the property is currently attempting to renovate the mansions.
The grounds around the estates are beautiful and overlook the Hudson River so it is a beautiful park to visit in warm weather.
Once the estate homes are renovating this will be a wonderful place to visit.
