Don't be fooled thinking this is a 'Spoons. It might look and feel it, and in all honesty we did pop in on that premise, thinking we'd have a cheap late lunch on a Friday after a walk along the prom. It's not, but better!

The menu was decent, with good choice of just about everything, including a children's menu (our smallest reviewer was impressed by the full set of crayons, too, not "the normal, broken, three colours you normally get in pubs"). The food was good, although it took a little while to come, with decent portion sizes. Good selection of drinks, with some non-alcoholic options, too.

It's got a mezzanine upstairs (with a pool table), TVs for your sporting needs, and the toilets were clean and tidy. Out of term time it was fairly quiet but I imagine it can get quite busy otherwise. The are special nights on (check the board).

All in all a very pleasant experience. And service was great!

A very decent Greene King close to Liverpool Street station. Early doors there are mostly Trades in, to be joined at 5pm by nearby office workers. There's a bar downstairs, too, offering much needed extra space and a sizeable beer garden out back (some of it covered and heated, with two screens for the sports). Service was, on my last visit, great although I'm sure they get more frazzled as the night progresses. The toilets (downstairs) were decent.
This stalwart of Walden remains an amazing 'old school chippy' in the heart of town on a quiet back alley (currently canopied with beautiful, colourful umbrellas). They do have some outside seating, and a few seats inside, and on warm summer's days it is a perfect place to sit. Or take away and sit on The Common! The menu is extensive and prices are decent and they do offer meal deals (including an excellent Family Saver box with a large cod, a couple of sausages, chicken and chips). Service is great and you can phone in your order (or order online). We'll be back!

A brilliant non-pretentious Irish pub in the heart of Stockholm. It's spacious, has live music (on occasion), cheap(-ish) drinks and a good selection of beers. There's a large (heated, covered) terrace but, as is one of the idiosyncrasies of this country, you can't smoke there.. and of course you can't drink on the (pedestrian) street outside. So smokers beware! It's open late, which is great, the toilets clean and the staff brilliant! Alex is great! I'll definitely return if/when I pass through Stockholm again!

A little boozer just off the market square. It's quite small, so feels busy even when there's not all that many punters in. The burgers were decent enough, and there's a good selection of drinks. Bar staff seemed a bit confused, but service was ok. We didn't try the beer garden on account of the weather, but it's great that they have one! Don't expect the Ritz but it's not a bad old pub at all.
