Parked at visitor center and walked down the trail to the end of Hoover Dam. Amazing views of Lake Mead and the Colorado River. Multiple tunnels to walk through. Walk was about 9.5 miles. Dog friendly and bikes are allowed. Railway trail was easy to follow all the way to parking garage at dam. Paid $0 and enjoyed the views.
Very large park with tons to do. There’s a pond for fishing, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball, baseball and softball fields. Multiple picnic areas throughout the park. There’s a police station in the park and they are great about keeping the park safe and clean. Along with park staff members. Large walking trail at the very south end of the park. Even further down from that is another baseball field and dog park across the railroad tracks. They do allow dogs on the trail as well. There’s tons of history you can learn about at the front of the trail. The size of Sunset Park today is 324 acres.
