Houston never ceases to surprise me with the sheer amount of green spaces to get lost in. Armand Bayou Nature Center was an amazing escape from the stresses of city living.
Though it seemed that quite a few people were visiting, I was able to walk a 1.38 mile trail completely alone - passing no other humans - and it enabled me to get utterly lost in the beauty of this place.
The upkeep and care of the animals was exceptional. As I was walking through the beautiful forest, I was able to see so many animals living in a natural & free way, which is such a humbling opportunity.
I will go again and again. I came alone, near the opening time on a Friday, and it was a perfect experience.
