Four Ate Five

Delighted to have been able to try this place finally—there always seems to be a queue for the limited outdoor seats. We scored by going at 830am.

At first I was gonna snag the bacon and egg roll but my partner already ordered the lamb mennen so I balanced out the table with the kale pesto salad. An absolute win it was. Surprisingly filling as well.

The drinks were excellent.

You have to go inside to pay.

High traffic footpath which means our dog got to sniff many passing dogs whilst we dined.

Finally ate here after years of just getting coffee. It was pretty good. Pretty busy for 8:30a but snagged one of the outside tables easily. Coffee was stellar as usual. The crumbed barramundi was very good although I was amused at the hot dog bun. Partners chicken sando was also good although I’d pass on the olives. Overall a good place that I might come back to for some chill focus time, but I wouldn’t wait in line for it.

Solid spot on Crown street for a laidback lunch with drinks. Lots of seats and plenty of plants to make it feel just far enough away from the noise of the city. Menu is a little typical for brunch—doesn’t feel like it has that unique thing that you HAVE to come here for. If you’re looking for a reliable spot, this does the job. Plus! Dog friendly, so that’s always a plus. Our dog loved sniffing all the plants.

Tried brunching on Bourke street. We’ve walked out dog past this place many times and it has always been packed. Sure enough, it was crowded today too, but we lucked out—just as we queued up, a table cleared up. We were on the Bourke Street side, so our dog got to sniff many passing pups while she waited. Alas, no water bowls offered to her.

Alas the taro latte and matcha latte were both out, but my partner settled on a turmeric latte. Apparently it’s good for you. Tasted good too. I went with a flat white—a classic. I forgot to ask for oat milk!

She had the more chili croissant with egg and shrimp while I had the lamb, capsicum, and spinach gozleme. We were both quite happy with our choices and we devoured every bite. It was very filling, and despite my coffee I promptly took a nap after returning home.

Would definitely go back to try some of the other Turkish delights.
