I don't normally get anything with chicken however today was an exception. As I arrived to the store and proceeded with my order I had unfortunately succumbed to the news that the roast pork was all but sold out. As my appetite needed satisfying I compromised and went against my regular anti chicken values and conceded by ordering the lemongrass chicken. Perhaps my strict views on chicken are inappropriate in this day and age because this establishment proved my regular values wrong. The lemongrass chicken was fabulous. The lovely, subtle but noticeable lemongrass aromatic flavour was a far cry from the regular, tasteless dry chicken I so despise. The roll was crispy, flaky but robust enough to haul all the ingredients and not fall to a soggy defeat by the sauce and moist ingredients. A substantial serving of pickled carrot helped balance the richness and add a refreshing addition. Moreover the traditional condiments often associated with a Banh Mi were applied and rounded off to complete the sandwich. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the lemongrass chicken Banh Mi, and I shall endeavour to taste another in the near future to ensure this was not a one off fluke experience.
