I’ve been a member of this gym for three years now and have generally enjoyed my experience. However, over the past few months, I’ve noticed a growing lack of gym etiquette among some members, which has been disappointing. I’d like to bring this to your attention, as it seems to be negatively affecting the gym environment.
Some examples:
Members taking phone calls on the gym floor
people not having a towel (and not using the cleaning spray)
Excessively loud grunting
Slamming weights
Additionally, a small group of people, mostly younger men, frequently fail to re-rack their weights. I've seen individuals squat over 120 kg and simply walk away, leaving the weights for someone else to deal with. This behaviour discourages many members from using equipment like the squat rack.
While I appreciate the staff’s initial efforts—such as posting A4 notices about re-racking weights—these notices were removed, and the problem persists.
I would hate for this to escalate to the point where it significantly affects my experience, to the extent that I will leave. I strongly urge the staff to take a more active role in maintaining gym etiquette and fostering a positive environment for all members.
