Great November day for a walk in the meadow with our little Penny. YAY for second summers! ECL Park is one of our favs. Lots of trail options!
Day visit. Parked and walked the short tree covered trail to the two west and northwest equestrian areas. Back at the main parking is a covered area with three picnic tables, BBQs, and a small playground. The observatory area was understandably fenced and locked. If you have really young kids and you're in the area this could be a nice stop but I wouldn't call it a destination during the day unless there is an event.
This is a stormwater pond with a water feature at a commercial building in the Fair Lakes area of Fairfax near the Whole Foods. It's a nice short walk on an asphalt path with a good bit of shade. One side is next to the road (Fair lakes Parkway) and the other is next to the office buildings. On the weekends it's nice for families with really young kids and/or old dogs or anyone looking for a short stroll.
