What you would expect, a trail surrounding a large lake. The lake is larger than I thought and the trail larger. Bridges allow people to cross over the lake and get photos. There's several decks to view the lake or fish and a lookout area. Benches surround the lake. Swimming, skating, and boating are prohibited. Most people walk, bike, or walk dogs. Crickets were chirping in November. One unique thing about this park is that a rail line is right next to it and Metro trains routinely pass by, be prepared to see lots of trains. Also with College Park airport close airplanes occasionally fly over.
This park runs parallel to Carroll Creek and has a trail that runs beside the creek. At the front is a reservoir with waterfalls, careful there's a large slope here. In the park is a bell tower that rings. Further back the creek becomes more desolate and overgrown. There's a suspended bridge that gives great views of the park. There's the usual offerings such as a playground and picnic pavilions. A public pool was there but not open despite being July. Perhaps because a thunderstorm just came through.
This is a great little museum. It consists of a two story building overlooking the runway. Models of airplanes from over the years line the room. There are display boards explaining each model plane. As the world's oldest continuously operated Airport it played a huge role in the history of Aviation, including being the first place to train military officers to fly. An upper deck give views of the planes from above. Although the runway is still used I only saw one small plane land during my visit. A great affordable Museum that only takes a few hours.
