A great spot to start a walk to the Basin and back.
This is a well thought out playground. There is so much shad from the palm trees and fig trees. The playground equipment kept my 11 year old entertained for over an hour. It can get quite busy, but with six different areas to play in finding something to do was easy.
If you are staying in Brisbane with young children for a few days, I'd suggest you leave a few hours half a day to walk around in the Botanical gardens and a play session here at the playground.

I told my kids to bring their swimming clothes but they didn't and now they regret their choices. The beach was rather inviting with a cool breeze and soft sand, so my kids immidently waded in, to report back with tales of different species of fish they had spotted in the water. The playground near by provided shade and barbeques for an afternoon or lunchtime snack with plenty of cover. Overall The Basin was a fun place for both me and my kids, although my car is still slightly wet and sandy.
