One word... wow! Loved the innovative and creative cocktails on offer. The flavour combinations make you wonder if the bartenders are insane or genius. Ingredients such as saline, soy sauce, olive oil... they shouldn't be in a cocktail but they were! Received free olives and nuts - unexpected but a lovely touch. Come again? Heck yes!
Came here especially for an adventure with the kids. Arrived at 6.30pm before the crowds of people flocked here. It meant good photos as you won’t get that with many people flashing their lights about.

Plenty of parking available at that time.

We wore old running shoes and they definitely got muddy! Nothing that a good rinse and wash in the machine won’t solve.

The glow worms were spectacular. Take photos on time delay without flash. If you don’t have a tripod, have a steady hand.

We walked/squelched through the mud until we hit water then continued until water was about mid thigh deep. I can recommend to stay along the wall once you hit water as the path seemed shallower than if you walked more towards the middle. It continued to get deeper but we didn’t proceed. Saw a spider on the wall inside so watch where you put your hands!

Highly recommend visiting but make sure you take plastic bags for muddy shoes, water to rinse off, old towel to dry up and other shoes to pop on.
Newington Armory

Put the kids on bikes or scooters and take them through Newington Armory. We had a great time wandering around looking at the buildings and seeing what we could see. Take your time going through here and make sure you have water bottles and use toilet facilities beforehand... especially the kids!
This is still one of the best playgrounds in Sydney! Complete with water play area for kids, there is a flying fox, climbing wall up to the top of slides, big swings, tunnels and more. Grab a portable gas BBQ with you to make lunch of dinner while the kids play. You can happily be here for hours!

Parking is available in two areas. Down the bottom towards the water, and on top of the hill by the top of the park. Parking can be tricky as this park is super popular.

Silverwater Jail is next door but don't fear, the residents are well and truly contained.

If you want less crowds, best time to visit is early in the morning during weekends, or during the week.

The elevator is behind Cafe Gigi. Unless you know about it, you won't know that it heads up to amazing views across Circular Quay and Harbour Bridge. Highly recommend going up here as the sun is setting so you get the contrast between day and night. Around New Years 2022, they closed this stretch of motorway and converted it into a concert space. Tickets to this were free - bonus! Was seriously cool! Glad I got the chance to experience this.
