THE go to retail outlet on the GC. Kelly the manager is very helpful and if she's not there, ask for Alley. Personally, I go for scuba diving, but this shop covers Scuba, Snorkling, Spearfishing and Free diving.
Adreno isn't just a retail shop, they teach, do airfills and trips.

Excellent boat ramp off the end of Smith Street. Very busy when the weather is good, summer and holidays. There is a good amount of parking but will fill quickly. There is extra grass area, but not sure if you'd get booked parking there.
Lots of car parking but not enough in summer on the weekend. Some 4hr paid parking, some 4hr free.
For launching, there is room for 4 boats at a time with the same in jetties to tie off to.
This site gives quick access to anywhere in the Broadwater and to the seaway mouth.
Be warned, do not park on the grass even with your trailer. GCCC will hit you with a $309 fine. Many, including us, got hit this weekend, 21&22 October. Council needs to provide more parking here.

Have been diving here for 7 years now. Over 70 dives in this location. There's a lot to see, both big and small. Wobbies, Turtles, Gropers, Nudibranchs etc. Have never seen a Bull shark.
There's a few need to knows for this site.
1. Always dive in the high tide for best visibility.
2. Current can be very strong. Full moon = strong current. Tide difference between Low to High can = strong current. Current often keeps running in after the predicted High tide, for up to 30 mins. Sometimes, there is NO slack tide.
3. Visibility, well check what the wind has been. Northerlies reduce it to as little as 2m and green. Easterlies are not much better. Southerlies bring clean water. Strong Southerlies and high swell churn it up. Westerlies, don't effect the vis but won't necessarily improve it.
4. If you've never dived here before, go with someone who knows it first.
5. Never ever go to the surface in the middle of the seaway or there's a good chance you'll get hit by a boat or jet ski.
6. Depth out in the middle can be 21m depending on the sand. There's an area called Coffee Rock out there but you need to know how to get there.
7. There's about 9 pylons that hold the pipe going across to Sth Stradbroke. There about 20m apart. Stay up on the W side of the pipe to reduce the effect of the current.
8. If you're at 100 bar by the 4th pylon, turn around and go back to the shore. Current is strongest between 4 and 5.
It's a great place to dive, but if you're a newbie, stick to the rock wall and head into the current then drift back.
Oh and beware, there are Stone Fish.

Love this area. Local to the GC so have been coming for 20 plus years.
Great place for scuba diving and snorkling. You'll find plenty of divers etc when it's on the high tide down here going in for a dive.
Dog off leash Beach.
Cafe is great. It recently did extensions so now it's even bigger and better. Takeaway or dine in.
Public toilets.
Lots of parking but can still get pretty full in good weather and school holidays.
No public transport all the way to the end. Think buses only go to Seaworld.
You can certainly cycle all the way to the end.
Nice quite areas down on the smaller spit area where there's tables and another set of public toilets.
All in all a great place.
