This is a cafe within a very small hotel. I had a cappuccino. It was good.
Be careful about being overcharged, particularly in the bar area. I got charged 34 PEN for a pisco sour that is listed at 28 PEN in their menu and I still got pressured to leave a tip, which I did. Ask the price and check with their menu before agreeing on the order. BTW, the pisco was a lot stronger than I expected, but that may be me. Otherwise, the mercado is a good place to try a number of Peruvian dishes.
I would probably be giving this place a 5 star rating if I had ordered a different dish. The bistec was tasty, but didn't feel anything super special. I could see some of the other dishes looked super yummy, but I will have to come back to check that. Nice, large space. My food did take a while to arrive. Gringo prices, but quality is very good.
I liked it more than I expected, as this seems to be a small chain restaurant. I had my beef kabobs with bread, as opposed to rice and it was a good combination. I'll definitely try it again if there is a Zaytoon in the area.
What a pleasant surprise! We stumbled on this beautiful Japanese garden as we were looking for a place to walk around in Hayward. It is small, but very well taken care for. Can get a bit busy. Did I mention entrance is free?
