Sand Bar

Small-town, right off the highway good ol' boy/girl bar. Friendly service and it looks like they have a fair amount of live music there. One pool table that is maintained but worn. Fifty cents a game. Cues are rough but there are technically tips on them. Didn't try the food but the menu looks impressive! Cash or credit cards accepted.
Atomic Liquors

You could eat here but I haven't. The foremost draw is the cocktails and the vibe. Las Vegas' oldest bar and it hangs on to the style of days gone by even if the decor has been updated. Bartenders here are serious about their craft. Don't bother coming here to order a Jack and Coke. Cash and credit cards accepted.

I advise coming early in the evening unless you like the young hip scene, in which case definitely come later. If you can get in. A reasonable walk from the Fremont Street Experience this is a more refined affair. Tell the bartender what you like - whether a flavor profile, a liquor - probably even a color - they'll have at least one if not six cocktails to suggest to you. Prices are higher than Fremont Street but the quality is infinitely better.

Looking to learn a new cocktail for your home bar? Most of the bartenders are friendly enough and are happy to explain the ingredients and proportions. There is definitely an air of pretentiousness here, and it's not entirely unmerited. If you like a *good* cocktail, come here. Sit at the bar and admire the miles of bottles. Breathe deep, the gathering gloom, and prepare to be delighted.
Arabella Restaurant

Middle Eastern restaurant near the popular tourist area of Changkat. Cash, credit card or e-wallet payment options. Limited English but enough to handle necessary transactions.

Menu is traditional Middle Eastern. A variety of meat options. I had the lamb biryani and it was tasty but not remarkable. Two large chunks of very tender lamb. Meat fell off the bone. A large helping of biryani without a lot of flavor - a few raisins in the mix for color. Served with two sauces, the smaller of which was an incredibly good pico de gallo, oddly enough. I wasn't complaining!

Hummus is also fine but unremarkable. Pita was a little chewy served warm in wax paper but otherwise fine.

Their iced honey lemon tea was refreshing and only barely sweet - a nice alternative to soda. Plenty of other juice options as well as tea and coffee.

Nice indoor seating area with AC. Also outdoor porch area. They offer sisha service and I'm not sure if it's only for the outdoor area of they do indoors as well. If indoors, there was not an overbearing smell of smoke or anything else unpleasant. Decor gives off a late 70's-early/80's office American office vibe (not intentionally) but is not unpleasant. Staff is very friendly and service is quick.
