We love the building and apartment but renter beware… apartments with ‘free rent’ are falsely advertised. We responded a Craigslist ad showing 3 months free on a 18 month lease. We received our 1st month of rent free however we’re about 8 months into lease and building ownership changed. With this change the new owner is refusing to grant us our remaining 2 months that the previous property manager/ownership agreed upon. We even have text messages from the previous property manager confirming the month of Sept to be used as 1 of the free months and the new owner REFUSES to honor the deal that the ad we responded to and rented based on because it’s not in the lease. We got bait and switched and are now stuck in an 18 month lease. On top of that the view of the river we had is now blocked by a building being built. That’s what you get for paying rent on time every month during the pandemic. Can’t wait for our lease to end, thanks new ownership!

Update: new ownership schedules building/unit repairs without alerting tenants ahead of time. We have a dog and can schedule for her to not be in the unit if we know ahead of time but they just knock on your door and ask permission right then and there. We should be given adequate notice. They jackhammer the balconies and don’t tell you in advance. I work remotely so I could have went to a coffee shop had I known. They also randomly will call you when you’re at work and ask if you paid rent for the month.. we’ve never missed a month or paid late. This is really concerning that you don’t have records of financials that you can just look up without contacting us. Regretting the release renewal.
