I found the most interesting documentation on the African American experience in this library. The exhibition on the new prison system and the inmates' artwork were very fascinating.
I got a history of jazz and its origins. Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit, Memphis, and Puerto Rico. The information they had on the popular jazz clubs and the musicians who played them. The Cotton Club, The Savoy Ballroom, and The Radium Club. From Duke Ellington, Count Bassy, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, and Stanley Clark. I would highly recommend this stop when visiting Harlem.😎
What a wonderful experience, the boldness of this work is very inspirational. Thanks you Ms. Laura, for providing this hidden jem on Orange.
