We came to hike in February, so we did not see the foliage on this trail. We loved the small lake and the bench in front of it. We saw three ducks. The day was beautiful; the sun percolated softly through the trees, and the trail went up and down, which was nice. The bikes were a nuisance, mainly because they acted like they had the right away. It is a pleasant trail but does not have enough diversity to give it a five.
As a native of Mexico, I was glad to see Omatepec serve fresh salsa on the “molcajete”; however, the chips were not warm or fresh. The menu is extensive and includes the dish of the day. Today, Monday, the special is”costillas de res en salsa verde.” I decided to order two tacos: steak and chicharron. Both are flavorful and well served. I also ordered a cinnamon tea that the server recommended. Omatepec is a place to try again for sure. Good service.
Suggestions: give fresh chips made fresh in small batches.
Made signs on the computer, not by hand (except for the chalkboard)
Expand the dessert menu with ate, cajeta, and flan or gelatin.

I don't know why this is called National Park. Full of vendors selling from tours to ceviche on the beach. Parking cost 8 US, although there was not a single sign.
There are no bathrooms, showers, or changing rooms. We were lucky we found Mike from a surfing school that rented us two chairs and an umbrella and brought us food from the restaurant. Comments said there were monkeys we never saw, and we refused to pay 95 US per person!!! To see them. A tourist trap for sure.

I saw the excellent google reviews and drove to Monkey King. You must enter a building and go up one floor on an orange staircase. Then go through a corridor, and there is a large sign for Monkey King. I was hesitant about the place because it was not easy to find. But it smelled good and looked clean. The attendant was prompt and recommended the shrimp. It was well wrapped in a cardboard container. The food had great flavor, texture full filing. I will be back for sure to try the other options.
The place looks clean except for the glass between the sitting chairs and the cook. At 11 AM is no one here. Rosaisela opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 3 PM. There is no Mexican coke, but there are “barrilitos.” she said she does not know what a Mexican Coke is. Only five chairs at the counter, three small tables on the floor, and one bench that looks like a church. Tacos are made on the spot and are pretty good, $13 for three Asada tacos. Not bad.
Rosaisela says she cooks different things every day, but you need to come early.
