Came to Chi Star for a friend’s birthday, we booked early because we had 16 people and they gave us a semi-private room, separate from other 2 small table with a curtain. Table was big enough but we sat cramped, wish they had a bigger table or give us the whole space. Food was awesome though, we opted for a king crab combo and added a lobster combo plus a couple of additional dishes, all were delicious. The only point deducted was the space and seating, which was way too cramped. The restaurant is super busy so make sure to call and make reservation, and some food will need to be preordered, check their menu. We brought our own wine and sake, their corking fee is $20 unlimited bottles, which is reasonable.

Amazing sushi restaurant, super fresh fish, and don’t order from the menu, but ask for recommendations from server or owner, kinda like omakase (chef choice) on most fresh ingredients of the day. Some items you have to pre-order a few days in advanced (like the Kinmedai sashimi and soup - splendid alfonsino and whole uni). The Eglington roll is our go to as well. The smoked salmon is also super rich with flavor, along with presentation. California roll is for kids, order the real stuff for adults and you won’t be disappointed. Don’t ask for price, you get what you paid for. 😁

There’s a reason why this place’s been around for so many years. Came here for dim sum lunch couple days ago, we made reservation so literally no wait, 6 of us ordered 12 dishes, all food were tasty and came out hot, no complaint at all. I did feel a bit thirsty after so some MSG was used. Price was reasonable and service was OK. Overall one of the better dim sum restaurant in Markham.
