I used to work at Camp Mohawk years ago during the summer when I was home from college while getting my BA In education. I worked as one of the specialist where the children explored exotic animals in small groups (Father Nature). We weren’t paid much, but it was my first experience “teaching” and I learned a lot from the experienced teachers there (Pablo and Diane). Meals were included and so was transportation plus the parents always took care of us via tips. When I was getting my Masters they encouraged me to apply at the day school. Very sweet people!
Fast forward 16 years later, I’ve been teaching for 11 years now and have my own family. I was curious how the camp was navigating post pandemic so I checked them out and I’m super impressed. It looks like they’ve kept up with the times and added so much more to the camp grounds. Camp Mohawk continues to be a good investment! After working at Camp Mohawk, you know no other day camp compares to it. I live upstate now but i’m highly considering having my kids spend summers in New Rochelle with my parents so they can have the Camp Mohawk experience. 💛💛💛
