After a week in Somerset Devon and Cornwall this was hands down the best meal we had.
Recommended to us by a local.
Superb local produce, carefully prepared and expertly presented.
Fresh flavours, slightly complex but not overly complicated. Simply combined but creative enough to be interesting.
Hot crab starter was wonderful.
Fresh off the boat hake, chunky and flavoursome and very glad I managed to squeeze in a dessert.
Also the English white wine treated a little light to start but quickly grew on me.
It feels like this place should have an accolade or two , although maybe the couple running it may not want that.
Lovely service too.

Traditional and historic pub. With a classics menu and good beer. Just down a small alley off the main street.
Seafood stew was recommended and much enjoyed by my better half.

Nice pub / bar. Good decor, spacious, Osdet brewery tap.
Visited early in the day in winter so not so busy. Nice pint of White Rat.
Would come back next time I'm at the train station.

4 hr ride and do in the Dordogne.
We don't cycle often but it was a lot of fun and not too tiirng.
Quite flat track.

Out in a Tuesday mid Sept. So not representative, but..
What a lovely pub. I went for the craft beer and wasn't disappointed. Not many stronger ones on. Had a Deya, so that's a great start.
Plenty of room. Nice out door space.
Knowledgeable staff.
No idea on food.
Pete Brown likes it so that's a good enough recommend
