Came here with friends on a Saturday night for dinner because this restaurant was one of Kris+ partners, and it was one of the rare places that still had reservations a night before AND on a weekend night. Reservation via Google was super quick and efficient.

The place is relatively easy to find, located along Amoy Street together with other restaurants. The staff was super attentive and gracious in attending to our every needs. I was the first to arrive in my friend group and they led me to my table, provided water and asked for my drink/starter preferences while waiting. Although it was a bit stressful because the staff was TOO nice and communicative, I appreciated this trait because it showed their professionalism, so this is not something to complain about. When the others arrived, they also provided free Italian bread (which you must absolutely dip into olive oil). We then ordered 3 mains (different pasta types) and they also recommended a starter (zucchinis) and all were absolutely delicious. It was a bit disappointing that they did not offer an upsized option (to add more pasta) because from my experience, mains at posh places like these were not that big of a portion. Other than this small point, the service and food was really nice.

Apparently, each table was celebrating their own specific event (did we miss the memo or something??), and one of them was for a birthday celebration, so the staff brought out a dessert and encouraged everyone around to join in the singing and celebration which was nice and homely! All in all, the place wasn't too crowded on a weekend night which was honestly surprising, but the best way is to still make reservations first. I would recommend dropping by if you are willing to pay a bit more for nice pasta (but not a big portion) and wine/alcohol.

Came here as we saw that the reviews for this cafe was excellent. There is a rather big VCR sign outside the cafe so you won't really miss it as you turn into the road. We came here on a Saturday morning, but there were still ample seats on the 2nd floor (there are 2 floors). The cafe features the standard kind you would expect at any other hipster cafes. We ordered the soft shell crab burger, truffle scramble gravlax, avocado toast, english muffin and a cup of long black. They also offer free water. The service was rather slow because I think they are quite understaffed which they apologised for (totally not an issue). The food was honestly average, and the portion wasn't that big. For the price we were paying, it was just OK - nothing fantastic. We would not recommend you to deliberately travel here just for this cafe, but if you are in the area then it's fine.
