Emerald Coast, FL. Clear pale green blue waves spread lacy edges along the packed sugar sand. The sandpipers were entertaining, they had different personalities! It was so calm today with perfect weather, November 9.
Parking lot wasn’t full at 9:45 am. It has about 29 spaces which includes about 2 handicapped spots and one for emergency vehicles. Bathroom building is bright white with teal trim; my husband said bathroom was clean.

“That right there is the perfect salad,” raved my friend who brought me here for lunch today. Since 2010 she’s come here regularly to build her own salad and said she was pretty sure a couple of the staff had been there since then!
It’s true, Roberta at the register happily enthused, staff love working here. Pedro at the grill and Artak working the front room have worked here over a decade. This is a small business that’s thrived on this corner since 2005, surviving the pandemic with its loyal staff and clients, some of whom come 5 days a week and are known by name!
The owner’s name is Brian and he’s behind the success of this restaurant which is in a class by itself. What makes it stand out: a chef develops fresh toppings and options which they put out for tourists on the weekends (it’s a satellite restaurant for Mall at Millenia) but they keep the favorites for the weekdays, and the regulars keep coming back.
The price for a salad is unmatched in Orlando in my experience. I built a large vegetarian salad which included a choice of base and five toppings for <$8. Instead of a dressing they allowed me to choose a sixth topping! I chose the marinated mushrooms which had enough marinade to flavor my salad. Loved the pickled onions, quinoa, fresh corn and variety of cheeses offered. There were more appealing toppings than I could get to in one visit. My friend got the grilled chicken, feta, bell peppers, and more. She said the freshness and variety of ingredients here have kept her coming back. Salt and pepper grinders were available. Loved that I felt I’d eaten healthily today and could control what went onto my plate. There were all kinds of patrons, not just health-conscious but a few carnivores, too.
Greens and Grille also offered themed salads to order by name, crazy good wraps, soups and desserts for every appetite. Beer and wine were posted at 2-for-1 all day every day! Plus cold brew coffee, fountain drinks and a fridge case of bottled juices and other beverages.
The high ceilings, modern chandeliers, expansive ordering area where you can watch them mix your salad in a bowl (like at Giardinos but this is more glamorous) or grill your sandwich/wrap ingredient, floor to ceiling windows, tropical flowering bushes and clean tables inside and out made dining here a pleasure.
“It feels like Beverly Hills,” I mused, and my friend concurred. We ate outside and the weather was perfect. Artak checked on us three times with a courteous smile. The team were all in good spirits today, a busy Saturday.
I’ll definitely return, even though it’s a drive, because we come to the Mall at Millennia and my picky husband and I will both be able to find something delicious on the menu here.
Highly recommended!

Rare for the Disney area: craft coffee, organic vibe, calm for remote work/study. It’s surrounded by franchises with bad service but here you have a small business, women-owned, warm greetings, great cappuccinos and coffee and the neighborhood knows it. Although the name is cutesy most of the business meeting participants and remote workers today had beards. It’s not really where you’d bring a girlfriend for an Instagram selfie. Although the barista and front counter staff are super cute.
Mainly pastries and bagels, zero sandwiches, but their vision is to provide a zen zone for travelers and neighbors and they hit it out of the park. I enjoyed my time here.

Orlando, FL. It was a sancocho kind of day. The gray skies, the bit of chill, and my tiredness made me stop here for a bowl of sancocho. Sancocho, with its rich stock; chunks of beef and chicken; hunks of yucca, potato and green plantain; a bit of mellow garlic; and a garnish of cilantro—-all comforted me like a mama’s hug. (Specifically this soup reminds me of Nildred, my Colombian coworker who’d buy sancocho when she felt under the weather and she’d eat it in the lunchroom.) This came with a plate of white rice, a cute little deep fried arepa, and a salad with homemade dressing redolent of olive oil and herbs. Everything was so good.
There were no salt shakers on any table. To my surprise nothing needed salt. The flavors were excellent.
I came around 5:00 pm on a Monday and dined inside. The music was fast-paced Latin music, not too loud, and images of Colombian beauties advertising Las Palmas flashed across the large screen tv on one wall. Young kids to grandparents, couples and singles all enjoyed their food in the smallish dining room that was about 50% full.
My server was very sweet and checked in with me about four times. At the end of the meal I ordered a limonada coco, which was a slightly sweetened, tangy coconut cream drink.
Around this time five servers came out to sing happy birthday to someone at the next table who was obviously a regular.
If you’re missing Colombian home cooking you’ll find a nice welcome here. It’s right across from Gatorland, you can’t miss it.

Orlando, FL. Great place for remote work (Wi-Fi password: Innovation1) with smooth Colombian coffee! My mocha latte was perfect for this rainy day. They get their coffee shipped to them fresh every 3 weeks and they brew it expertly. Coffeeterra has a wide following from their coffee truck (Lake Eola Sundays, Honda dealership on Orange Blossom the other days).
So the owners of the adjacent business approached them about co-leasing part of their space with a long term vision of getting a liquor license for both businesses and Coffeeterra catering their events (catering is happening now). They’ve only been open a month.
I really enjoyed my chicken empanadas, hot ham and cheese croissant and mocha latte! Everything was delectable.
It’s at the stage you can hang out here and do a ton of remote work and feel good about supporting a small business at the same time.
Enjoy!
