26.11.2023 - wasn’t my first time. My husband and I have been coming to Malabar Express for a lot of times in the past, the last we had was in June and that was a good experience. For this time on Sunday, unfortunately it wasn’t. 2 stars as the average for the good experience I’ve had in the recent past and for this one.
Usually they would be giving the menu already upon sitting; on Sunday l, we had to wait for some time and we were thinking they might notice we don’t have menus. My husband had to ask for menus.
The food we ordered were: shrimp dry fry, beef dry fry, 4 pieces of paratha, and husband had the mota rice set meal.
The shrimp size changed as I remember it would a bit bigger, but for that time, don’t know but it seemed that they cut costs and the shrimps were smaller.
Comparing the service on the set meal- in other places, staff are attentive and would come to our table and “refill” the banana leaf with rice and other food items (of course they would ask my husband first). Here, my husband was trying to see if they would notice he ran out of rice. He waited a long time and I was telling him to just call the staff. Finally someone came and asked if he wanted more rice. They gave him rice but they didn’t give curry (which my husband said it’s automatic that they should give curry). He also waited for the curry which never came. I noticed that the parathas were taking long and we asked the staff how long it would still take. My husband had to remind the guy at the reception as we felt no one was paying attention or maybe they forgot our order.
Waiting for the paratha ruined the appetite I had and the okay mood I was in at the beginning. I told them in the past the paratha won’t take that long to come..we were ready to walk out and just leave because of the disappointing service, but we didnt..thought about food waste and integrity of still paying even though that kind of service should not be encountered by anyone. I hope I would still dare return to see if maybe the service would improve.

Great time in Sharjah Aquarium. No need to pay extravagant fees to have a moment with various kinds of sea creatures. Make sure you take time reading the information in every part so that everyone can learn something. The place looks clean and well maintained (inside and outside). Best that it’s not crowded at all when we came (around 2pm on a Sunday). In about an hour our walk was finished. There’s a cafe, souvenir shop and a photo kiosk where you can buy the photos the staff took right at the entrance (only if you want, not mandatory).
First time on the first day of 2023. It was a good experience overall, had a nice lunch seeing the Atlantis. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked, nice ambiance in the restaurant. Our second order of grilled chicken took a bit longer but not that big a deal. They have a contactless way of paying for the bill with some sort of app that you can just scan with a QR code.
15.10.2022 First time. Relaxing ambiance with a cool Saturday night air, shisha was good, some of the staff were polite and nice, drinks were huge. Surprising to see they have a restaurant beside it and nice to see families can dine there. The outdoor area was busy with groups of families with their kids. Would go back.
13.10.2022 First time in Adventureland. It was a Thursday and we were surprised that the place was practically empty at around 130pm. It was like the whole place was for us. There are a lot of rides for small and big kids. There is also wall climbing, a train ride good for something that the whole family can go on. There is the fast train and slow train and we went on the slow train. There are snack bars, a lot of benches to sit on should you be tired from walking. The staff are friendly though I felt sad for the one staff at the carousel as I felt she is miserable with her job. 2 of my younger daughters went in and I thought she might help them get on but I saw she’s not making a move so I asked her if I can come in to help them get on. She opened the gate again and I did what I had to do. I don’t know if she’s supposed to help the kids, but anyway I hope she feels better soon. The other staff in other rides like the jungle explorer, the plane ride , the smaller bump cars helped the kids with their seatbelt. The one at the bump cars even had to always steer the wheel for them almost all the time for them. At around 4pm ish, there were more people but not crowded. It was a fun experience being there for the first time.
