A 40 year old world class marine educational center and aquarium for the whole family, young and old to visit. Can easily spend all day here. Only can buy tickets online before visiting or in front of the building using a QR code to enter. You cannot purchase tickets in person.
The Open Sea (1.2 million gallon exhibit), The Kelp Forest, African Penguins, and Jelly Fish are must see exhibits. Definitely make the time to watch the free feeding times and live narration videos in the auditorium. Have the kids learn and touch the hands on exhibits provided by the MBA volunteers.
Great gift shops to bring back meaningful souvenirs home.
Visit during the weekdays during the school year if you want to avoid the crowds. You can easily take a break and walk outside at the back of the building to enjoy the picturesque views of the Monterey Bay.
If you are willing and able to park in Pacific Grove (past the aquarium), 10 min, flat walking path with views of the Monterey coastline, parking is free all day.
Restrooms are perfect for kids and babies (changing tables and kid-friendly height level sinks).
Can easily get your hand stamped for “in and out” access (take a break to eat outside of the aquarium or not).

Great place for both kids and adults to learn how to skate. Go during the weekdays in the morning. Not as crowded and mostly made up with the under 6 crowd. They have “seals” to rent for $10 in addition to the skate rental. Great “aid” to help you stay up right. 90 mins (skate time) is the perfect amount of time. Didn’t feel shorten or too long with little ones. Mine learned how to skate with the first hour without any assistance. Can’t wait to go back with the family during the Holiday Season to skate again.
In my opinion, the best part of the Oakland Zoo. It's a self-walking tour of the best of California's nature at the top of the hills. As soon as you ride the Gondolas to the top of the hills and get off, you are in the California Trails area, there is the majestic Bald Eagle sitting in the tall oak tree. Next to it below is Grey Wolf habit. Then the California Condors, the California Jaguar, the Grizzly Bears, the mountain lions, the Black Bears, California Wilds! Playground for the kids, and the San Francisco Bay Area Outlook with a herd of American Bison in front of you, the view of Oakland, including the airport, then the Bay, the Peninsula, SF, and the GG Bridge.
The Landing Cafe has one of the best views to sit and get something to eat or bring your food from home and enjoy the views of the San Francisco Bay including views of Oakland, the Peninsula, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge (on a clear day).
Accessibility Friendly -- Easy to get in the Gondolas if you pushing a stroller or pushing a wheel chair (there is a dedicated line for strollers and wheelchairs). The whole California Trails is flat and paved. Kid Friendly -- there is a Kids Menu at the Landings Cafe and there are diaper changing tables in both the men's and women's restrooms next to.the Cafe.
In order to get back to the Gondolas, not only there are stairs, there are elevators that can take both wheelchairs and strollers back to the Gondolas area if you cannot walk down the three flight of stairs.

If you love Monopoly and in the Downtown San Jose area, you definitely need to visit this park. Great place to take your Instagram photos.
It is located in front of the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose.
Not giving it 5 stars because the Monopoly board needed a deep clean and lots of touch up paint. It was dirty and the surface paint was peeling and cracked in many areas.
