I don’t know what happened here. This used to be my favorite place in the Marigny with my favorite dish I’d recommend to people all the time. This time I went was a completely different story.
It wasn’t super busy so the food came quickly. But when I last got the Fried Chicken Mac n Cheese it was with long cavatappi noodles in this delicious sauce, whereas this time, I don’t know if it was the end of the pan or what but it was dry, old, tasteless, shards of overcooked dry cheese that were barely chewable, pasta was overcooked and mush, puddles of oily grease, no seasoning or onions like before. Just a miserable dish, honestly.
I get cost cutting and whatnot but for $19, this is asinine quality. I hadn’t eaten all day, and didn’t think returning the food was respectful, so I just cut through it. Further, I wasn’t feeling super great after eating it either. The quality of the food here just is not what it used to be and it’s very very unfortunate. Place was a hidden gem for locals, not so much anymore I suppose.
