We rented a cabin out here, and it was amazing. We came in April time so the weather was nice and cool, but never got really cold. There's no shortage of places to hike, kayak, fish, and relax. However, we had to drive about 45 minutes to get to any kind of restaurant or shopping, but that's the price you pay for being that deep in the woods. What a great way to spend a vacation.
This is a beautiful park to visit. Amazing diversity of plant and animal life. Add to that the great activities like boat rides, kayaking, bicycling, etc. and it makes for an awesome experience. This particular trip was our first in the four months we've lived in Sarasota and we'll definitely be back.
