I watched a co-worker having what I referred to as "a food fantasy". They recommended this particular location for its service and food. My waze directed me to the location which is adjacent to the JCPENNEY parking lot in a strip with 2 other businesses.
I arrived midday and was welcomed by a pleasant woman near the door. Within 5-10 minutes my meal was prepared which was a combo of teriyaki chicken and shrimp with veggies, noodles, green onions, sesame seeds and extra sauce.
The staff was very pleasant and appeared to work well together as a team. The portions were generous and I would definitely eat there again. After I got home I too had "a food fantasy". My vegetables were perfectly cooked, not hard or overcooked. The meats were tender, fresh and flavorable.
I have since eaten at two other locations and have come back to this one for a new combo. This time I added steak and the next time I will add salmon which came highly recommended by many people.
I would definitely recommend this location, the service and the food options.

The location is easy to access off Central Avenue and close to the beltway exit. It is in an industrial park not far from The Home Depot and minutes away from BJs.
The strip where the Center is located offers private, modest parking but not intended for larger or oversized events. Do get there early for closer options. Lighting could be better.
The entrance area or foyer was also used as the food service buffet area. Lines would proceed from your left, receive their meal and exit out a door to the main sitting area.
Back at the entrance after entering you proceed to the right you enter into the main sitting and dance floor area. To your left is the bar, tables in front and private sitting areas along both sides of the wall. These recessed private areas have a loveseat, one or two metal drum tables and are roped off with stanchions for privacy.
These were the most popular seating areas, so arrive early to get one. Plus you have a great view of everything from the center 3 or 4 sections.
At the front is a stage area and to the left and right are a bathroom for women on one side and men on the other. In the same back areas are private areas used by the hosts.
There is a area near the stage for the DJ which could be a permanent or optional area. It was a little cold so dress accordingly. Masks were worn by the majority with a few exceptions. The food was excellent with options of your choosing with a Caribbean flair. The Mac and cheese, beans and rice, shredded cabbage with vegetables, and varies meat options were a hit.
The atmosphere can be created for your individual themes, the bathrooms were clean, stocked and had a comfortable vib. Their staff was pleasant, professional and ready to serve.
Because of the size of the venue, it's best to keep attendance to a minimum or your guests will be standing. This venue is best enjoyed if space to meet, mingle and dance are factored in. Over crowding would take away from your dream event, but from a small to medium event of 100, plus seating around the half circle bar should be efficient.
Also factor in tables were spaced out due to Covid restrictions. Other seating arrangements may be available.
All in all, perfect for birthdays, baby showers, family or business gathering, etc. Great venue if planned wisely. It was my first time there, but I would definitely go back if for no other reason than to enjoy the food that is paired for the event.

After researching on line for a friend, this location was attached to an AARP link for Seniors to get their SmartTrip Cards. I called at 901am and a very energetic young man answered the phone.
It's location on Allentown Rd is not far from the 2nd Ave. Thrift store a block or two away and at Brinkley Rd.
I arrived about 945a and quickly was surprised how large the facility was, rows of parked cars, shuttle buses rotating through, people being dropped off, laughter from packed meeting rooms, lines of people waiting to sign up for activities, and a genuinely kind and positive staff.
They must be doing something right because everyone was enjoying their experiences, greeted repeat participants, chatting like teenagers over a meal and challenging each other for their next visits.

Picture driving through a canopy of stately old trees as you approach the entrance to this historic landmark which is within walking distance to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The architecture of stone and mortor dates back to the late 20s and 30s.
The driveway will take you up a hill where you will find the academy straight ahead and townhouses on the right that didn't exist 30 years ago. I guess developers finally made them an offer they could not refuse.
We arrived at 6a and the doors were open to anyone. If I were a parent, I would have been concerned and alarmed about the accessibility. We proceeded to our destination without interference.
They have done a great job marrying the old with the new and turning this old church into a center for learning. Spaces are used for multipurpose events, lectures and meetings.
We returned at lunchtime and had to be buzzed in which was a relief, but no one asked for ID at the main desk. They were too busy talking to each other and waved us pass.
Younger children were engaged in activities, young teens had more freedom and some were a little disruptive. Lunch items were dropped and left on the floors and when someone asked them to clean up, an adult said someone else would clean it up. Wow, what a way to teach responsibility. It just happened that this area was being used for an event, so we came back later to set up.
The academy has a lot to offer and hopefully the students will walk away prepared and engaged. It's a great environment, let's hope it lives up to its mission statement.

One of a few service locations still available on Saturday until noon. The bank is within walking distance to the Capitol and other federal buildings. Street parking only is available. The handicap ramp access is great. Upon entering a seated representative welcomes you from behind a large desk. Behind that wall is the banking area.
The staff is friendly, attentive and greets many return customers as if they were old friends.
