This banquet hall was updated a few years ago and has a nice big bar, very large dance floor and room to seat maybe 300 people and still have it be reasonably comfortable. Plenty of parking and reasonably priced, definitely worth checking out if you are planning a large event.
This is a great little community and volunteer run rail museum which is spread out between 2 buildings (station and tower) and a single beautifully restored caboose. You can come and see it all with the help of a guide in 30 min or less so a nice quick diversion even if you are just passing through.
This is a fantastic little museum with a modest but interesting mix and of rolling stock just adjacent to the CSX local yard which is on open tracks right next to the museums stock. This offers a great view of active trains which when we visited were busy shunting cars around and getting set for runs. The real show stopper at this museum though is the large model displays of which there are at least 4 separate displays. The cost of entry is modest and the staff was all very friendly. Definitely worth a visit especially if you love model trains.
I've waited for a ride here many times and the biggest downside is the idiots who also frequently drop off and pick up here. The design is a bit poor on the exit so it is often clogged with either taxis or folks waiting for a passenger instead of parking like they should. It's not the most pleasant looking spot to wait either. As you are just inside the parking garage and near the bike lockup.
I've been a member of the school advisory board for three years and can say definitively that there is not a more dedicated administrator in the archdioceses than Mrs. Maria Bovich. She has taken this school to great places and continues to push forward rather than resting on her laurels. The staff are all caring and capable educators that will help your children succeed and prepare them for high school and beyond.
