Was excited to try this place, sadly was disappointing. When I went almost everyone behind the counter seemed pretty young, I thought that was great to see young teens/ adults working so that's a plus. Now to food , bagel with scallion cream cheese, one look , I could tell this was a loss. The cream cheese was so oily and runny it was like melted butter. To be fair I tasted it with my finger, never again. Now on to the sandwich which had the strongest onion odor. I took it out of bag and damm. The onions were expired for sure. Again to be fair I picked out onions and tried sandwich, I couldn't stomach it the taste was very off. So now both my orders were trashed, wasted money. Sorry it's a no for me.
Place clean on walk-in half hour after opening, I was craving a burger so I had high hopes for this place. Sorry, guys disappointment. Ordered my food online in front & walked in about 6 minutes after just to look around, but when I said my name, surprise my food was bagged and already sitting in the to-go area. Wow!? that was quick . Anyway grabbed bag. Yes, it felt a little cold, but I ignored it, mistake .. In car driving away (I had to go) I open bag to start on fries ughh cold and tasted old. I couldn't eat them, nor could I turn around. Fingers crossed for burger .. nope as soon as I grab the burger, I feel the chill. Why is this food so cold? , & the burger looked sloppy and unappetizing. I pinched it for taste and it was dry. Now I really wonder if I was given yesterday's food. I couldn't eat this meal at all. What a waste. No, I won't return for another try. The guy behind counter was very nice tho.
Cool place that let us make last minute reservations. They open at 12 p.m. Sundays every other day at 5 p.m. We made the reservation for Sunday brunch around 11:15 for the 12 p.m. brunch they gladly accepted us. Be careful getting there because you have to cross the FDR and try to avoid the runners/bikers in both directions it seems like everyone and their mama runs this path. Nicely decorated clean with a snooty feel but actually had very nice Waiters/hosts that check on you numerous times... I got up once during my meal and came back to a folded napkin and straightened area my friend informed me the waitress did that. The views of the East River were great and the food was surprisingly tasty I have to admit I thought it would be bland. They bring you warm cranberry scones and banana nut bread while you wait we got them straight out of the oven. Reservations should be highly considered this place fills up fast with groups of people and I do mean groups... about 98% were senior citizens dressed to the nines we felt kind of out of place for a minute but it was cool. I'm sure dinner time is a madhouse.
