The drive, the hikes, the views and the company- we could have spent the whole day at the Blue Ridge Parkway.
There were TONS of overlooks for Grandfather Mountain right off the road, so you could easily bring the whole family without kids/grandparents getting worn out. There were also some super fun and intricate trails that were a little above moderate! However, if you come for the trails, be careful because we noticed some of the signs are not very accurate for distance… (1.2 mile hike turned 4…). The staff at the welcome center were super helpful and gave us perfect sunset view advice! However, if you have to pee, go at the center because there’s no where but woods anywhere else up the mountain. Overall great day.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere! The Bodega is one of my favorite places to eat when I’m in Marquette. I just have to be ready to wait, as their wonderfully crafted food takes little while to prepare.
