Sai Rung Waterfall

Nice waterfall with a refreshing pool at the bottom. Usually quiet and peaceful, you may be unlucky as it's on a few tour routes that include the elephant sanctuary down the road. Lovely people running the small cafe at the car park (20b donation - the only charge). There's a WC at the back of the cafe.
It's a short walk from the car park to the waterfall over rocks and roots. Can be a bit of a testing site for your mosquito repellent.

This review is from a corporate invite to the Gage Rd Bunker for the Crows vs Port showdown.
A great evening of footy at the heart of the action. The Gage Rd Bunker is right behind the Crows cheer squad close to the goal. The view of the other end of the pitch was less than ideal but the home end couldn't have been better. The Bunker bar and food package, obviously featuring the Gage Rd product range, was good with a reasonable range and generous quantity of food. Being able to see into the Crows team room was an interesting insight especially as they won and we got to feel part of the celebration.
The three towers of the Sands complex now dominate the Singapore skyline, visible from most parts of the city, locals seem split between, on one hand, seeing it as an architectural icon, a modern wonder and on the other, as an eyesore that detracts from the view of the bay.
Whatever you think of the building, the observation deck has become one of Singapore’s biggest tourist attractions and is on the must-do list of many visitors.
Now, I’m not a big one for negative reviews but there are so many 5-star write-ups here that a rather more cynical view may be useful to some.
So, before the gripes here’s the good side - The views, it’s all about the views and they are spectacular. This alone may well make the visit good value, with the city on one side and the bay and gardens on the other, there’s nowhere else quite like it. I can’t image how many millions of photographs have been taken up there but it will be the sort of figure normally only thrown around by astronomers…
So, what are the downsides?
First, it’s not always clear that the majority of the platform is only available to hotel guests, only a little more than a quarter is available to those buying a ticket. This makes it a bit pricey for what you get - around 32 Singapore dollars gets you a ride in a lift and access to this smaller tourist reservation.
Next, the bar and eateries are only open in the evening - visiting during the day means nowhere to sit and have a drink with just a handful of rather tatty concession stalls.
Finally, it’s very exposed up there. The weather can change quickly and a tropical downpour will lead to a thorough drenching and a hot day will eat through the factor-50 sunscreen like nowhere else.
All-in-all, it’s a tick on the bucket list. I’m glad I’ve seen it but it’s in the ‘done it once, wouldn’t bother going again’ category.
The Big Octopus

3 stars for getting listed on Google twice. This isn't really a 'big thing' in the great Aussie tradition of big things, it's a fibreglass octopus over the entrance to Riply''s which is, of course, the real tourist attraction. A bit of fun though
