We really enjoyed the tour of the house and learning the history of the place and how it ties into the history of Los Angeles. I was especially impressed by the collection of various antiques, numerous clothing pieces, hats, purses and ladies' fans. I definitely recommend this place.

Located right in the middle of Calabasas town center this little museum is pretty impressive. Not only the house itself is interesting but the grounds have a barn with animals like sheep who actually bare babies, barn cats, cattle, goats, chickens, turkeys and Guinea fowl. Also on display is a variety of farm machinery from the times long gone. I would recommend visiting here and another historical site in the area on the same day. King Gillette Ranch is only 20 minutes drive from here. Adamson House is about 35 minutes away. This way you get the wide scope of and feel for what people lived like over one hundred years ago.
Arcadia Contemporary

We came here to see Jeremy Lipkin's solo show. While Lipkin is an outstanding artist demanding high prices for his works the gallery staff is far from being outstanding. While inside the gallery the staff member made no contact, no greetings and to make matters worse we were asked to leave because they decided to close one hour early. We made a point to come to this particular show and planned our day according to the operating hours of the gallery. We ended up going to early dinner instead. The gist of it is if you don't look rich and don't look like you will buy a painting, they don't bother with you.
